    I need:

    1. Funding
    2. Materials
    3. Time

All very important things but I'm gettting through them one at a time.

Let go of those nagging old fears and self-doubts, and just let myself fall into the new life. With open arms and giddy heart. I want it so much!
And I am close to doing it! :)

A part time job that pays better than my full time gig, so that I can freelance in more creative adventures of my own design..... and I think I found it this morning ....now just have to go get it!
  • Traci · 1 year ago
A nice balance in my savings account so I can quit my job and freelance full time.
  • Cindy · 1 year ago
A plan. I spent this weekend figuring out my weekly routine so that I can make writing a priority. Now, I will write first thing in the morning for 1 1/2 hours - that way I have worked toward my dream before the rest of the day gets in the way.
  • Krystl · 1 year ago
I've been offered an amazing opportunity that would require complete upheaval in my life, and a real professional stretch. Need to decide what I really want out of life in order to determine whether or not to accept this opportunity.
  • Nia · 1 year ago
Yeah. I need someone to help me with my blog (I've gotten over my first hurdle in actually asking for help - I hate doing that even when it's for my benefit). I need business cards too. I have added a layer on, I became really interested in bookarts and bookmaking. I am currently taking a class to see if its an avenue worth pursuing (taking a class helped me realize that I do not really want to be a jewelry designer). So giving it a go and I really pray that I have fun (I am really excited about it thus far) - and if I find I love it....I will need to find the courage to do this "off the beaten path" but rewarding thing. Sorry mom, I just wasn't made to be a lawyer.
  • Nia · 1 year ago
I also really need to get my driver's license. I am thinking of heading South where my family originates and you can't really get around without a car. The thing is, I am afraid to drive.

A big-huge KICK in the butt!!
last year I sold out of my successful IT Consulting business - great decision. I had a baby, and then started a new venture...Well, second time around isn't a charm...at least it isn't yet. I can not blame the kids, the husband, the housework - I know it's me and my current lack of motivation. What I really need to move my amazing vision of my amazing company forward, is a good old fashion KICK in the ASS. once i start moving, there is no stopping.
  • Jess · 1 year ago
Freedom from negative thought patterns and worries about other things in my life.
I find that if other areas of my life are kind of wonky, I get so stuck on them that I can't focus on my vision and my dreams.
I need to be able to separate or take 15 min. each day to just worry about other things so I don't get distracted.
  • Emily-Sarah · 1 year ago
I echo those needs (time and money), and frankly, without them (especially the money), I currently feel hobbled and "piecemeal" in my attempts. However, I think sometimes a lack of [fill in the blank: money, time, proper opportunities] is a way for us to suck in a deep breath, ingesting a huge amount of faith and intestinal fortitude and keep going in spite of whatever our limitations are. At the moment, my challenges (money, mainly) loom large, and yet my mustard seed of belief refuses to die. So I guess I'm saying that in addition to much needed tangibles to keep our vision moving forward, we must also have those potent emotions in place (especially in those times when the tangibles are slow to present themselves).
  • JoeM · 1 year ago
Six more hours in every day. Continuing education until death. Constant efforts to maintain an open mind. The grace of God, and persistent efforts of those who continue to support me. Humor!
  • Wazzy · 1 year ago
I would like to continue to be diligent with where my money is going, and how it is working for me. My visions are wide and varied and I am focused about saving for my retirement and setting myself up to continue to be self-sufficient. Supporting and taking care of myself are what I "need" and that is what I am doing.
  • Ellen · 1 year ago
Danielle - I'm sending everyone I speak to!
Kelly - you can sponsor my business anytime you like.

    What I need?
    1. To submit my letter of resignation TODAY.
    2. To catalog my clients TODAY.
    3. To shop out affordable health insurance TODAY.

    Mentor kids.

    Learn Spanish.

    Network w friends & professionals.

    Join professional organizations

Eventually, my vision will all come together and I will be a Spanish speaking, mentoring, psychologist w networking capabilities that will allow me to expand/collaborate around the world through motivational speaking & book signings.

action. there is nothing holding me back from writing the book than my own resistance to make time, sit my ass down in front of the computer and put my fingers on the keys. the rest takes care of itself.

Courage and confidence are the mantras for La Dolce Vita Retreats. Courage to pursue your dreams during difficult times and confidence in yourselves that you will succeed. One of the most important things women need to do, and often don't, is ask for what they need and/or want. We often shy away from asking for help but it is truly amazing what can happen just by verbalizing it, by making your needs known. I bet many of you who have listed your needs today will hear from someone who can help! Women enjoy helping each other. We are collaborative and nurturing by nature.
  • Carolynn · 1 year ago
The first thing I need is a CLEAR vision. Once I have that, then I need to have Faith that it IS possible for me to achieve my dreams, not just for other people. Faith in my capabilities, Faith in the process, and in my God's desire for me to have it too. After all, he's the one who put this desire in my heart in the first place.

This couldn't have come at a more opportune time for me. This Fall is about "officially" launching my business to the advertising community. My to-do's include:

Get this sucker (my website) out to my database in the next two weeks.

Complete the fundraiser we are throwing at the end of this month and raise $5K to help women in Peru who are using the micro-credit loan and support systems to emerge from poverty.

Create new client relationships with people I don't know in the Austin business community.

Do some Training + Group Coaching with advertising agencies and other creative companies.

Get comfortable with speaking on stage in front of others.

And, last but not least, continue on the good health train.

    Thanks for the reminder...

An extreme makeover.... that's what I need.. I'm in the process of a "do over"..a do over of me..
    it's exciting..
  • Sheri · 1 year ago
I need order and divine guidance.
I'm 'rebooting' my business after 8 years to reflect a different kind of client I'm being let to serve. I find that the clients I work with the best are somewhat like me...they crave order, clarity, creativity, ease, connection and learning new things about their genius. As I more fully embrace these values, I'm attracting more clients who share them. Yay! It's both scary and thrilling to experience my vision redirecting itself.

  • Uncle Beefy · 1 year ago
I hear the sentiments of many here in that I feel I need to focus on focusing (?) and increased self-discipline. I find I get so caught up in a whirlwind with household projects, responsibilities to relationships, job hunting, blogging...that pushing forward in better defining my vision typically gets lost in the shuffle or a daydream. Time management and I haven't quite settled up to being friends just yet...but I hope we can at least have a coffee or something someday!

SUCH a great question!!! Thanks, Ladies! :)
  • hadley · 1 year ago
Kelly, I can't get beyond the home page on your website. Is this my problem or something at your end? You're such a dynamic and intriguing person, I must learn more. Please help.

PATIENCE: to wait, to learn, to practice, to develop, to be silent when I want to scream, to defer gratification, and to be a good mother. Patience seems to be the lesson of this year. Every time I lose patience, something bad happens.

Some money would be great too. Also, faith and confidence, but those would come with the money!
  • licarrit · 1 year ago
Well, frankly I need the VISION first. I've always been one of those people that has tons of good ideas, I just can't figure out what I want to do from there.
  • Daniel Gibbons · 1 year ago
Oh, just the old staples of time, money and a dash of good luck.
  • Keiko Lee-Hem · 1 year ago
Since joining forces with my boyfriend (i.e. moving in together and speaking of "forEVER"), my vision for my future now includes another person. The trick now is combining his dreams, goals and vision for the future with my own. The even bigger trick is setting the time aside to have these oh-so imperative getting-on-the-same-dream-boat discussions. Our plan is to create a joint vision board so he can "see" what I want and vice versa. Now it's just to DO it!
  • MoJo · 1 year ago
Continued connection with inner-vision, relaxed vigilance (awareness), and surrender (or the ability to recognize the opportunities that exist within the obstacles). If there's one thing I've learned - I often cling to my vision of what it will be like 'when I get there' - to the extent that I sometimes overlook the fact that it's already manifesting, just not necessarily how I had imagined. Walking the razor's edge between co-creating and letting things unfold as they will...
  • Kate · 1 year ago
My vision is to start my own gift and home decor store in Steveston BC.

Right now I need to complete my business plan financials and then I need start-up $$$ to get the ball rolling!!

In Spring I will need to gather up my moxy to quit the cushy office job and finally become the Entrepreneur I have always wanted to be!

I just hired someone to create business cards, a logo and my website, which will be live by Sept. 16th when my home is aired on a Toronto station for a home-decor segment. This feels good. Being pragmatic moves you forward. Visualizing and creating a vision board helps focus you but action is always needed.

Inspiration, focus, money. OH Man! I just realized, I need to make a vision board, Duh!
  • Katie Kay · 1 year ago
Funny, I read this after I typed my response, I just realized I need to make a vision board, hope it helps!
  • Kristin · 1 year ago
First of all, congratulations! Good luck with the decision. Upheaval can be a good thing.
  • Danielle LaPorte · 1 year ago
here's a potentially useful exercise for you: what other words could you replace "upheaval" with? Not that upheaval is necessarily negative at all...but new words can = clearer feelings. Either way, sounds like you're in a great place.

What I need to move my vision forward at the church where I serve is to slow down and access the inner confidence/courage to share my vision with at least one person everyday. I tend to get caught up in tasks at the expense of relationships. What I need to move my vision forward at home is to "de-crap-ify" (it's like hard-core de-cluttering).
  • Lori_from_Texas · 1 year ago

Thank you! That is very intuitive of you to pick up on that. Last year I created a women's group called Are you Living your Most Passionate Life & found I loved coaching. In fact, I will probably continue again sometime next year. So thanks for the encouragement & noticing my post!

It all helps Katie - my daughter is a powerful manifest-or and she uses a vision board all the time but the real secret as stated, is 'action.' When you take a step towards your goal, mighty forces come to your aide... I love that!

I need to find a way to balance all the roles I play so that I don't feel like I'm sacrificing my family for my business dreams. It's such a delicate balance.

C+D, I was introduced to your site and this question by Kelly at Startup Princess. She's great and I'm glad you were able to feature her here! I'm excited to have her as a resource and now to have you and your daily bits of wisdom!
  • Kelly King Anderson · 1 year ago
Thanks C&D for the opportunity to "ask a question" to this choice community! Great experience, love to you!! What an impressive list of motivating action items.

Today I was immersed in emails, somewhat separating me from some of my "action' items so I need to be more patience with the process! it takes time to realize our dreams...but every step brings us closer, right?

CHECK OUT my interview today at Startup Princess with Carrie&Danielle! Plus a giveaway of their book! http://startupprincess.com/wordpress/a-giveaway...

To listen to my inner voice the call of my best self. Keep answering the call and acting in joy. Keep it simple and fun. This is actually very fun stuff, this whole creation process! I like to remember that we are all making it up anyway, so better make it good!
  • licarrit · 1 year ago
That's just the problem while I may be faithful as an old dog to my husband I am something of an idea slut! I love new ideas they get me all fired up and rarin' to go. I know I love the process of creating something, in my case that usually starts with a piece of cloth. As for making it my life's work, I'm not so sure. Nothing kills a dream faster that exposing it to the harsh light of making it pay for itself.
  • Rushmi · 1 year ago
Thanks Carrie - I just wrote a long letter to myself. Envisioning the feeling of what the company will look like, feel like when we are 1 year in to it. The process gave me goose bumps because I could see the company so clearly - it was beyond the P&L - thanks for the the idea. Now It's all about "kick butt"!
  • heather · 1 year ago
Amen! The biggest struggle for me. And the finding the stick-to-it-iveness to figure out what it is the current struggle. Why am I so afraid?

I need to get out of my own way and better understand why it is that I'm more committed to self-sabotaging my vision than I am to supporting it. Once I understand why I'm so afraid of tapping into my full potential, coupled with a little more clarity of my vision, well, then, watch out world, here I come!
  • Jennifer Sage · 1 year ago
I feel very emotional as I write this. Quite teary eyed really. Went to a marvellous workshop in Auckland yesterday with Mary Vachon a Canadian Palliative Care nurse, counsellor and academic. Surrounded by Nurses and Doctors we talked about soul, spirit, angels and alchemy.
My vision is simple: Wear more pink and embrace my girly femininity. Something I have run away from to my cost. A man came up to me at the conference and took me aside and thanked me for my contibution to the discussion and then said some very sweet, deep things to me which told me a new real me is emerging.

When you are a big bold women pink is a power color I am discovering it makes me a thousand times more approachable.

We are complex creatures. We need to be building loving caring bridges to our fellow humans through what we share in common. And Carrie and Danielle teach us of the paradoxical importance of expressing the deep true authentic soul of who we are in our individual uniqueness. Our gift to the human race.

Today, I need knitters to help me knit leaves. Click my name for details.
In the longer run, I need to honor my creativity. First step: accept "Creative" as my foundation word, even though it's a little scary.
  • Suzyn · 1 year ago
Ooh, oh, the whole approachable thing! I realized a few years ago that I was wearing all dark colors and conservative shapes in an effort to seem serious and professional. It was almost like armor. It had nothing to do with my authentic self.
  • Kelly King Anderson · 1 year ago
thank you for sharing and being so real here, Jennifer. You touched me deeply and reminded me that our vibration increases when we wear powerful colors, essential oils, too. Today.. I prayed outloud, which brings down the powers of heaven, i need to do that more.

Belief. The belief to know that I can only be stopped by my own fears That every barrier is just an opportunity to look at the obstacle with a different perspective. To repeat this mantra over and over again until I have reached my goals. And oh yes, humor... I need humor every day, every moment because without it things get way too serious!!!!
  • Vanessa Rae · 1 year ago
I would like to be a writer. To move my vision forward I need to trust my voice, practice, put myself out there and believe that I will connect with people, inspire people and be true to myself. I need to stop comparing or worrying that what I have to share doesn't matter. And instead remember that if I write (live) from my heart that alone will bring happiness and personal victories.
  • Kristenbond · 1 year ago
I know this long overdue but...
what do I need to move my vision forward.
    Tangible sewing assistance...
Someone to show me how to set up books for a fashion business,
Someone to find some clarity and consistency in my words around pricing...I change the price every day because math seems so ethereal to me...I keep getting a different answer to my formulas...this is impossible because I am working with constants...yes, I need someone who understands pricing to help me move my vision forward.
and I need to say what the price is, what the real price is and stop under cutting myself because I am so flattered that someone wanted my art work...weird psychology but, I gotta break through it!
    Thank you for asking,
    Kristen Bond
