Carrie and Danielle: What are you anticipating?

  • C Martin · 1 year ago
My next extended holiday. I am sooooooo overdue.
  • marn · 1 year ago
Sorting through 35 years of my husband's parent's estate (they both passed away in the last 2 years). My first son going to Kindergarten in Sept.. (and riding the bus)! My Dad's 70th birthday party, and a family reunion on the long weekend!
  • Cindy · 1 year ago
Being able to do what I love for a living when I am financially able to do so!
  • marianne · 1 year ago
Taking my Style Statement [Natural Magic] out to play - getting a new hair-do, going to a concert by my current favorite band, Back Door Slam; branding my fledgling business "mary's nuts!", finding love
  • Leslie · 1 year ago
OOOh my goodness! This is a real sensitive topic. I hope i don't break out the tissue but i must see it written so i will take the time to express. I am a single parent that does not get any help from the father. He is a great child 4.0...... good looking, great personality ect... It has been really hard for me the last 3year financially. I am anticipating a new job with a new home and the days of saying goodbye to not just finanaical hardship but financial frustration and the feeling of being swallowed by the make do monster.
  • Ellen · 1 year ago
    Relocating to Northern California.
Becoming an accredited supervisor of fledgling counselors.
My dog calming down when she becomes an adult.
A visit from a wonderful friend in August.
An upsurge in the economy so we can all breathe more easily.
  • Ruth · 1 year ago
A lot more controlling and undermining at my current job, before I will finally be able to quit.
Lots of fun and togetherness at an upcoming trip to Canada.
A positive change in my life is on the horizon. I can feel it.
  • Ning · 1 year ago
A big chunk of free time so that I could finally work on some scrapbook pages and use up the embellishments that I have purchased more than a year ago.
  • Kristin · 1 year ago
Signing away my first book. My wedding next summer to my dream guy. Meeting more new friends in my new city. Focusing as I begin new projects. Continuing my path to a better self. Finally receiving Style Statement (takes awhile from ordering to receiving in the UK) later this week and diving in at the weekend.
  • Kristin · 1 year ago
Embrace that positivity! You're right - if you feel it, it's coming...be ready to grab on with both hands. :)
  • Julia · 1 year ago
I anticipate all kinds of changes this year! I am approaching my 40th birthday, and although I've always said that the midlife crisis was a trite concept, now I understand! I expect that I will be ready/in a position to meet a wonderful, appropriate guy that will have the potential to be my husband. I expect that my job will become less stressful, more creative and better defined. I expect that I will be healthy! I am reading, "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert and "The Gift of Change" by Marianne Williamson. Great books for understanding transition. Change is not easy for me, but I know my ultimate contentment/happiness comes from accepting change and embracing it. I'd love to hear from some mid-lifers!
  • Julia · 1 year ago
Your dog will calm down! My canine children are Jack Russells/Beagle mixes and it does get better. I have replaced blinds, sofa material, bras and pillow cases. Don't give up. Crate training is a life saver. Benadryl helps, too, if your dog/s get nervous during thunderstorms. Hang in there!
  • CB · 1 year ago
You have watched The Secret, right? Every I am or he is statement is a decree. Make only the decrees of the things you want in your life, especially when who some one is being is less than there best self. You will be beyond amazed at how all of this works. My husband has gone from an abusive jerk to thoughtful and attentive. (over a 2 1/2 year period)
  • Joannie · 1 year ago
I'm anticipating another trip to my roots next year and saving towards it every week. I'm anticipating freedom from the pain of peripheral neuropathy. I'm anticipating love reciprocated. I'm anticipating a red convertible Beetle. I'm anticipating freedom from fear.

Freedom is very important to me.
  • Julia · 1 year ago
Where do we find out about "style statements"?
  • Joanne · 1 year ago
I've just sent my first short story to a magazine for consideration. I'm anticipating getting a reply. I'd love for it to be published, but just finishing it and sending it off was a huge step.
  • Brenda · 1 year ago
Picking up my brand new (really) '07 Cadillac STS that is capable of doing everything but fix my breakfast.
  • Marissa · 1 year ago
Without adding my own judgment on these things as to time relative to "now," here is what I'm anticipating:
    - My vision is a success, and I am serving my clients as an attorney, a web-tech, and an admin, as their needs require;
    - I get my hair cut similar to Kate Gosselin (Jon & Kate Plus 8), and I love it, and I no longer pull my hair up in a Pebbles Flintstone-esque ponytail to get it out of my eyes everyday
    - I travel to Tibet, and I see some of the sites, and feel some of the experiences, that I studied about for years as a religious studies major
    - I am financially comfortable--not Robin-Leech-is-at-my-door wealthy, but comfortable, and able to assist my family if they need it
    - I dance a little every day, even if it's not in a physical sense
    - I am happy, and I am now.
  • Brenda · 1 year ago
Forgot to mention that the car ties in very nicely with my 'Comfort-Creative' style statement.
  • Chantal · 1 year ago
Beginning my new career as a travel agent in the film industry. Having my paintings show in a NY gallery. Producing my hand-painted tshirts in Bali this fall.
Expanding my mind, anticipating what life has yet to teach me and the continuous opening of my heart.
  • Shug · 1 year ago
I anticipate returning home late tonight (after a mini working vacation from my regularly schedule life) and delving into my new Style Statement book, which arrived in the mail while I was gone . . . AFTER sharing some hugs and kisses with my sweetheart, of course ( which I am also very much anticipating). :)
  • laurie_matthews · 1 year ago
Finding my soul mate and reinventing my career.

Finding my style statement. (I'm working on it!)
Gaining all sorts of semi guilt-free weight while my husband attends culinary school. (Practice, practice, practice, honey!)
Finally being able to stay in a place for more than 2 years once my husband graduates. (Please, please, please.)
Landing a freelance gig I applied for a bit ago. (Again, please, please, please.)
  • Carrie McCarthy · 1 year ago

I am anticipating Fall and the temperature finally getting cooler - Texas heat is a killer! I anticipate every day with my daughter - she is three-and-a-half and every day she discovers something new, says something hilarious, and opens my eyes a little more. I am also anticipating my new self. I am in the midst of a new era in my life, and I am excited to see what happens next!
  • Susie Hutchinson · 1 year ago
A holiday. We are heading to Scotland next week--my daughter will meet her Great Grannie.
  • Kristin · 1 year ago
Do it!!! Don't just say you want to write a book. Write a book. Twist your life around so you can find the time to get it done. Then rewrite it, maybe a few times, and when you feel it's the best you can do, put it out into the universe. Get a thick skin. Separate your writing from your self - it's easier to take rejection that way - and know that a 'no' is just one opinion. And don't stop believing in yourself and your potential. Good luck!

    Falling in love again...

Relationships&Communication: Attending Studio Pinpoint's "Accomplishment of Women" party tomorrow night in Toronto. Making connections that will give me hints (or keys!) to my future.

Home&Stuff: The big move to Ottawa in August. Two more weeks of the life I know well, and then a magical blank canvas. Finally setting up a home with my fiance. Entertaining.

Service&Wealth: Opening doors (and my heart) to a vocation of service and creativity. Saying no sometimes so I can say yes to the right offers.

Nature&R&R: Finding the drumming communities in Ottawa. Discovering paths, trails, hills, rivers and rural areas close to my new home.

Fashion&Sensuality: Wedding planning with my fiance. Combining our unique styles to create a great gathering of friends and family.

Body&Wellness: Getting strong and slim over the next year. Saying no to sugar and yes to stretching. Running a half-marathon in the fall.

Creativity&Celebration: Weddings & babies everywhere! A new nephew or niece on the way. Handmade cards.

    Spirit&Learning: Daily gratitude & prayer.

Becoming a mother with a natural at home child birth.
  • Shug · 1 year ago
Sort of. Actually, my name is Averie. Shug is the nickname my daughter and I chose for my 9-month old grandson to call me. Not unlike Shug Avery (TCP), though, did grow up singing in church and now am known as a juke joint singer of sorts (minus the preacher daddy drama and hard drinking). The name seems to suit me; my friends are beginning to call me Shug now, too.
  • Shug · 1 year ago
Hooray for you. I'm headed to Cape Breton Island in two weeks (first visit there) and really looking forward to some time by the sea as well. Have a wonderful time on "your" island holiday!

Finding a job I love, finding my creative passion and more focus in all areas of my life. Also building a home in the hills of Lavington, a sacred space that fits in with the landscape and is kind to Mother Earth, a place my family can be together in nature.

I think Anticipating (and the other forms of the word) is my middle name...I am currently anticipating:

going to Vegas with my husband and no children to visit my best friend
the arrival of our live-in au pair (from Germany)
the completion of our basement reno
my oldest daughter starting kindergarten in September
something "big" changing the course of my career
lots and lots of veggies from my garden :)
  • Tamara ModernGear TV · 1 year ago
I am anticipating the day when I can earn a living from my web site. I have written and reported for years for media conglomerates who make a mint on advertising revenue, and the business model and proliferation of new media says I can do it myself.

I started the project with zest and fervor, and then my husband and I lost our son in a late-term stillbirth Talk about taking the wind of out my sales.

I feel life ebbing back into my body, home and soul. I am ready for it now. I need to do a little more work to get it where I want to be, but this is what I anticipate: daily blog posts and weekly video posts that entertain and inform people and help them make decisions as to how to spend their hard-earned money. Loads and loads of readers. A steady income from the efforts. The ability to work on my own schedule, from wherever I am...hubby and puppy alongside.

And being a contributing partner in our dream home, built with love from the ground up.

    I can't wait!

    Tamara

Of course I meant wind out of my "sails" - gosh I hate discovering spelling mistakes when it's too late!

The glitch meant anticipation and reflection for me!

My 30th wedding celebration over 3 days in early September. Just to say marriages always change and I have experienced the best parts of my marriage following some of the most difficult parts. The only person you can change is yourself and real change that is significant can be gradual.

My third lot of big OE. New Zealand to Wales for 3 summer months in 2009 with my husbands family who have lived there for ages and doing lots of walking on the Pembrokeshire coast path.

Can I say as a women who has never been able to have children that mothering can take many beautiful forms over a lifetime. and also acknowledge the heartache attendant to biology not always working out the way we wish.

Anticipating learning to live in the eternal now for the rest of my life with Bold Grace

I am anticipating a visit with a very close friend with whom I have known for 42 years. And I am only 46. She lives in Montreal, a city I have visited only once and just loved. I am always amazed that I have had this friend for so many years. In grade school, she was always miss popular and I wanted her all to myself. When we were adults, still friends, I often felt second fiddle to her family, I finally called her on a few things - breaking dates, being late, never calling and I finally felt powerful. As I have gotten older, I have not needed her as much and so now, I appreciate her so much more, if that makes sense. She is always a joy to be with and I am always filled with anticipation and excitement before a visit.
