Carrie and Danielle: What about yourself makes you enthusiastic?

  • Kristin · 1 year ago
Learning, every day. Taking bits from all the lives I've led and twisting them into things that make me a better person. Giving others the support I would want myself. And using my knowledge to create grand things in my new career, knowing I deserve the success I envision if I use everything I've learned well.

Loved this post! I'm enthusiastic about getting people to be enthusiastic, esp in these tough times of credit crunch and media doom and gloom. You're so right that people shine when they really get to do what they want to do or just stop and take stock for a minute to appreciate the things they like about themselves and cherish in others. That's one of the quickest ways to put a smile on your face. Happy July 4th Day!

I am enthusiastic about inspiring others and myself to make dreams and wishes into a reality!

I want to bring hope, and raise people spirits and aspirations everyday. I do that by being enthusiastic about my past - the present and the future. I look to the good in all things presented to me.

For me inspiring people - is truly filling people with spirit - as the latin deriveration states of the word "inspire" inplies.

I try every day to be authentic which I think is my basis for filling my "full of sprit" quota for the day. I believe this allows me to be enthusiastic - "filled with God" - or Buddaha, Allah, Great Sprit, Great Mystery or just "be-ing".

The Style Statement and discovering my authentic self in my style statement is a a constant and big part of being "Enthusiastic" and "Inspired" - "filled with God" & "Being in spirit".

Again my thanks for the book and your ethusiasm for its message and impact on people lives daily - those just like me....

I am blessed to have crossed your paths - that Iam sure was divine porvidence...

    Cheers!

I am enthusiastic about loving listening. When I am listening with love to someone else, (or to myself),I am truly filled with God.

What about me fills me with enthusiasm? That I'm a seeker of the truth. That when life's difficulties drop me to my knees, I weep for a while, then get right back up again. That I turn lemons into lemonade. That the older and more frail my body becomes the younger, stronger and more resilient is my spirit. That I look upon the beauty of and in life with the wonder of a child. That I am open to what life presents including the rare visit yesterday, to my garden, of a brilliant red Cardinal and a male and female yellow Finch supping at the Euchinasea.

Bouncey - trouncey fun fun fun! Enthusiasm is my nature. In every baby and childhood picture I am smiling and happy. I think I was born with a smile on my face! I am not a party animal type, but I literally bounce when I walk and smile. That is it! My smile! I am enthusiastic about my smile. It showers every one with sunshine!

My painting, my dreaming, my creativity- I love to see things transform from intention, vision, imagination, and fill it with love and energy.

I am enthusiastic about my body right now! After years of feeling unsexy and unbeautiful, I finally decided to challenge myself. I have signed up to do the Toronto Weekend To End Breast Cancer (a cause that is near and dear to my heart). I have been training my little buns off - literally! I wake up most mornings around six and walk for an hour or more. On weekends I do my long walks, which are sometimes over two hours. I pound the pavement and let my mind wander (and sometimes break out into dance). I love that I have challenged my body and it has responded with a resounding, "hell'ya!" I am now walkin' strong, proud, and confident!

I love to feel the enthusiasm of my own smile. I love it even more when I can feel the smile of another person when I see it. A smile is so ageless and original. You can't copy someone elses or feel insecure about the things that make you do it. A smile is the physical expression of joy. Sure, I can think of times when I faked a smile or found another's to lack authenticity, but when you see or feel a real one, that's the kind of enthusiasm that's contagious. Don't be afraid to smile or to smile back at someone who's sharing their joy with you.
  • adventuremike · 1 year ago
Ahmen! And have you ever found that if you 'faked a smile' that you actually may even started smiling within?
Pass on the smiles and spread the enthusiasim!
  • Danielle LaPorte · 1 year ago
apparently the muscles that are engaged when you smile, help release a "happiness chemical" in your brain.

I'm enthusiastic about this new stage of life I'm in...because it's the first time I've been simply, fully honest about my best skills, and determined to use them with authenticity and integrity.

The phrase: "The word enthusiasm means: to be filled with God." fills me with unending enthusiasm. I can't even articulate it.

Generally speaking music, great performance, great art - give me this inner giggle that gurgles up inside and comes out in utter awe and appreciation.

Damn! This daily question has been my favourite yet!

I am enthusiastic with my teaching. As a teacher I love to develop creative assignments that allow my students to gain confidence in developing skills, excitement in learning and wonder in exploring their creative process. They teach me to share and be a better version of myself.

My best calligraphic piece ever quotes Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm". I'm enthusiastic about my ability to make connections...with people, places, things; then putting energy into collaborating, innovating, creating to make things happen. I believe the energy that fuels my enthusiasm comes from taking care of myself and feeling physically strong and healthy.

    ...And smiling!

I’m enthusiastic about my capacity to be wide OPEN...to new ideas, opportunities, people...I love tapping into “what if”, or “what else” or “what’s that”...or even better "why not?"...when I catch myself thinking “no” and then followed instantly by “well, maybe...YES?!” I instantly get this child-like feeling of glee...the feeling of possibility.
  • Nadine · 1 year ago
Wow - this is amazing. I love it. Enthusiasm for me is when I'm brimming with life and excitement, so much so, I feel like I'm expanding and my skin can barely contain myself. It's a moment, a laugh, a look, a breeze, silence.

I am enthusiastic about exploring the sea. I feel privileged that I can access, with freedom, what Cousteau called, "the silent world." Sailing in my good old boat is like great sex. I get immersed completely and the issues of the press get their deserved space as they vanish from thought and importance. "To live on the land we must learn from the sea," John Denvers words have never been more true for this optimistic cynic.

i'm enthusiastic about my capacity to LIVE! not just subsist day to day, but really be in the moment and extract pleasure from all the small stuff. an amusing comment from my son, a song, a passage in a book, a cup of tea... i wish i could say i really fill this capacity; i don't always and that is something i put continual effort into improving.

I'm enthusiastic about my creativity. This summer I made a commitment to eat healthy, make more of my own meals and just be more mindful of my diet, and I'm enthusiastic about that! (And the changes it's brought to my life, my energy and my body!)

Right at this moment I am enthusiastic about finishing this house that we are flipping. It is all that I think about. We are in the final few weeks and I can't wait to wake up and finish that place up! (We even have a buyer already) so the drive to get it finished is overwhelming at times.

I am enthusaistic about a lot of things about me, but today it is the house.

  • Lindsey · 1 year ago
Teaching yoga and writing. During my Style Statement session with you, you mentioned that someone once told you we can do two and a half things well. I think that's true. I'm not sure what my half is yet. Thanks for asking!

I am so enthusiastic about self-discovery right now. Finding who I am, what I love and what my strengths are. I am enthusiastic about life and all the possibilities it offers and I make myself ready to learn and grow. I am enthusiastic about being INNOVATIVE GRACE, and eternally grateful to C & D for providing me the tools to be the best me I can be! (ooh, that rhyming is so cheesy!)

I am enthusiastic about recapturing my health. For the last several months I have been sluggish and moody, well more moody than usual...
I have not felt like going anywhere or doing anything.
Turns out heredity has caught up with my thyroid. It is now under control and I have the energy to not just to do things I love, but things I need to do.

My endurance. After a serious injury in 2006 I really let my exercise regime slip. It used to be that I could knock off a half marathon easily in under 90 minutes, but I've really gotten out of the habit. So it was with some trepidation that I started hiking again last week. It was amazingly reassuring to be by far the fastest person up the Stawamus Chief, one of our local mountains, last weekend. Carrie and I hiked the Grouse Grind at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. This weekend I'm taking things up a notch with a dual ascent of Mount Brunswick and Mount Harvey.

Adventure, learning, and honesty to self and others are important apsects of my everyday life. Professionally, I give my all to make a difference in the lives of others. I feel with hard work and perseverence I will achieve or surpass any obstacles thrown my way. I am enthusiastic about life and deserve the all the positives it has to offer.

The teacher/facilitator in me. I have a gift - I can help others learn skills and thought patterns. It is something that I love and use in my work - all different phases of work. I live for the "ah ha!" moment that students show when something clicks and they finally get the lesson. This is specially exciting when teaching adults.

I'm enthusiastic about making opportunities in my life to spend time with friends. We are scattered all over the world now so it's not as easy, but I know that I'd ask for more time off from work before I asked for a raise 'cause more time gives me more time to spend with friends.
  • lechat · 1 year ago
I'm enthusiastic about my love of people. I'm slowly realizing that what I really want to do is work with the public, show them what I love, and find out what they love.
  • Leslie · 1 year ago
Love enthuses me. I love to share and receive love and all the joys that come along with love. The sound of laughter that rings from a child when I do something funny. The joking of family members and hugs, kisses and innocent touches such as a pat on the back the ringing of encouragement toward one another. Those are all things that rings the presence and excitement of God.

I'm enthusiastic about learning new things always and delighting in my cats, the beauty of nature that surrounds me, and in my children's lives.
  • Kerry L. · 1 year ago
Hmmm. I always think of "enthusiasm" as "happy, happy, joy, joy". But filled with God? OK, I'm enthusiastic about continuing to be enthusiastic! I'm enthusiastic to seek God, to hear his voice, know his direction and feel his presence every moment. I also think of enthusiasm as being filled to overflowing but I'm just not feeling it today. However, I can sit in silence and know his presence and I'm enthusiastic that I can do that!

The thing about me that makes me enthusiastic right now is that after 34 years of life, I am finding that I am really just starting to connect the dots. I finally feel a wisdom and knowledge that is emerging and growing. I see relationships that I wouldn't have seen when I was younger. I understand greater levels of abstraction than I understood when I was younger. I feel like I am blossoming.

    Hello lovely ladies,

Yes, enthusiasm, can be contagious energy! I tend to spread this to my friends and co-workers and sometimes to strangers - about whatever topic is in the moment.
Presently I'm enthusiatic that my friend introduced me to a website where I can transfer my blog information to. This will be much more beneficial for my business.
    Regards,
    Rina

it can also harden one's stomach muscles..and this a fact! EX: when one does laugh - keep in mind what other muscles you are being used, you will notice that your stomach muscle is being used - in a positive manner.

I'm enthusiastic about my ability to encourage and help youth jump in with both feet. I'm also enthusiastic about the fact that I shaved my head to raise money for cancer research (in front of 1300 students and teachers) which inspired a 15 minute raising of $900. And...finally, I'm enthusiastic about the new doo - a brush cut.

It's called 'biopsychoimmunology' (how's that for a mouthful!).

Basically through the simple act of smiling (& here's the kicker..... whether we have anything to smile about or not) our brain doesn't know the difference & releases chemicals to make us happy.

I tried it recently a la 'Eat Pray Love' - meditating while simply smiling & it didn't take long before I was really grinning from ear to ear.

I'm enthusiastic about my capacity for love and my ability to look at things in a positive light! Yay! : )
