  • I'm just catching up on the C&D blog after a couple weeks of working-too-hard-to-take-time-for-me and I've got to tell you that I loved this post. I've been 20 lbs above my goal weight for a couple years now (in 2002 I lost 60 lbs and kept it off...but in the last couple years, it's been sneaking back up on me), and I know what I have to do-- it just hasn't clicked for me yet. Lately, whenever I'm out walking and see anyone who looks fit, strong and slim I have this urge to stop them in the street and say "what exactly do you eat?!" So now you're that girl, and I didn't even have to ask. Thanks for the insight and the laughs. You're an inspiration.

    I have known for a long time that I need to kick sugar out of my life. I made the switch to raw cane sugar, and I try to avoid all things that contain fructose and other chemicals.

    To date, I have managed to shave ten pounds from my six-foot frame, but it has taken me all of five months!! I am trying to get from 245 to 195. I think ten pounds in five months is kind of slow, but my doctor said my metabolism is straight--now I am out of excuses.

    I want, more than anything, to feel happy, sexy, attractive!

    So, here's the thing: I'm really lucky because I've never had a weight problem. I have, however, had two children - both of whom caused me to gain 50 lbs. (Which is odd considering they were both only six pounds...). This way of eating is relatively new for me (within the past year) and I am slimmer than I've ever been before. Here's what I do: eat as big a breakfast as my stomach will allow, and then whatever I want for lunch (provided it's free of any and all refined sugar - remember that includes white rice, white pasta, white bread) and at lunch I do my best to make sure there's a staggering amount of greens as well. Dinner kind of takes care of itself...

Although I prefer to eat a little fruit or take a swig of some hearty juice straight from the jar or enjoy a cup of tea or half cup of coffee first thing in the morning, by 9:45 or so, I'm ready to EAT. I feel so much better heading into the rest of my day and am not craving all sorts of nastiness (aka refined sugar) later. A couple scrambled eggs or all natural peanut butter on good toast for dinner then seems like quite enough. I'm taking this post to heart and eating what I want when I want. (Did I already say thanks?)
  • You are so welcome. I want to start a revolution in anti-calorie counting! Another thing I noticed, I'm less stressed before dinner time because it's going to be as easy as breakfast preparation. My kids are happier with smaller dinners too.

  • Since last 4months,i gained 4kgs.This is mainly because i am fond of sweets and do no exercises.But now i reduced sugar content to great extend and have all meals light except breakfast.So now I am regaining my own Figure.
