Carrie and Danielle: Valentines Day: Why Celebrating Love is the “In” Thing Now and Forever More

Hi Melinda! Thanks for the great post :) Love is an essential part of our being - as you said, it is symbolized in different forms for different people, maybe flowers for some, hug for others, etc. What's important is we don't end up attaching ourselves to the symbols of love over the love itself.

You are 100% correct. Love is what someone makes it to be.

I think in the contemporary world love is associated with "having another person" whereas, I believe, love exist in everything.

Too many people feel like all those superficial symbols of love - flowers, jewelery are the only way of showing affection. It's kinda sad if you think about it but then again it's great for economy so I guess it's not that bad.

As stated in one of her songs - "But only loneliness teaches us to love" - great words, and they fully demonstrate the truth of life, the person is alone, it accumulates an energy that unusual, but once found its second half -- transmit it, making my life colorful and unique.

Unfortunately, I do not possess such a depth of knowledge of English to convey their emotions after reading your post, but I will say one thing - this is amazing! Thank you.

I think more and more people are understanding the true meaning of love and so they tend to give they're love special gifts as a sign of their love like jewelry, flowers, chocolates..
    it's good for our economy..^_^

I'm affraid for many people it's less about "I love you so I'll get you a present" and more about "well I guess it's valentine's day so I'll get you something". I don't think true meaning of love equals gifts.

Very refreshing and awe-inspiring post. The L word's meaning may vary and could even be elusive, but what's certain is that love is inevitable and unexplainable, just like magic.

Valentine's day is important to every couples so let's think about unique gift, valentine's day is just once a year.. Last valentine's day I bake a unique design of cake for my boy friend, I designed it like a ball because he loves playing basketball and soccer and I put a note saying "I will love you for-ever", good thing that my friend informed me about lionsdeal.com which offer a great deal just visit the site and click the coupon code "online10", I've bought all I need for baking and I saved a lot of money..

Because nowadays they are a lot of distractions when it comes to love. Gadgets, toys, hobbies etc. All of those can affect the relationship. So quality time is needed to make sure that love works and love remains.

I think you can give your love without the normal chocolates and fancy dinner. The problem is I've always been creative and I'm running out of ideas! When you are creative and you truly melt her heart, it's tough to out do yourself the following year.

Valentine's day just seems so superficial to me. I mean you should celebrate your love every day, not once a year when you're kinda "forced to" because people look at you weird if you don't.
