Vacation is always human nature. But in homes this baffles me.

I just had a staycation. Ahhhh. 4 days sans man, boy and dog. Bliss. I gathered my new magazines, favourite bath stuff, didn't answer the phone, burned some symbolic stuff in the fire place and rented ten documentaries. Way cooler then a Zen retreat where you have to cook with other people and shower quickly!

How about just hibernating in the house? Reading for fun, watching things you never have time to watch, doing some decoration, cook complicated dishes. Basically slow down and take your time to do whatever you want to do. No planning.
I do this all the time, it is rare for me to go away on a holiday, I just spend time at home - a place where I really like to be even though I usually only sleep there. Of course I do travel, but that is always combined with some work-related event.

I like to put on music... all the fast oldies that I love... and dance wild and crazy. If my kids are around, they love it... they join in and we have a dance party.
