David Bowie and Bing Crosby - Little Drummer Boy

yes! the most unlikely duet ever, really. Bowie must have gone a day without acid to pull that off at the time. And, the result is haunting and beautiful - it's one of my (few) favourite Christmas songs.

Wow, beautiful (after the 2 minutes of banter) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKTHvW2JcAA

How about Huey Lewis and Gwyenth Paltrow?! (in the movie Duets? not bad actually.) And it's not quite a duet, but Kenny Rogers makes an appearance on Wyclef Jean's second last CD. So bizarre it works.

Why is the Grease duet 'unlikely'?

Love, love, love the Kelly Clarkson / Reba McEntire combo, though.
  • Rick_Juliusson · 10 months ago
Unlikely because I grew up knowing John Travolta as one of the sweathogs on Welcome Back Kotter, so the very idea of him singing was a outrageous as seeing wimpy Bruce Willis from Moonlighting become the new action guy in Die Hard. And Olivia Newton-John just seemed impossibly old.

what a delightfully fun article! Looking forward to listening to some of these. I love the duet between Bono and Sinatra...but what Christmas carol was it now...hmm...I also love Bono's One with Mary Blige and Bono's "when love came to town" with BB King. Okay...maybe I got a theme here...maybe I'd like my own duet with Bono!

Ditto that, sister! ;-) Ah, Bono...

even though one of the most highly viewed youtoobs, i think this is second most unlikely to crosby/bowie: pavarotti and james brown!!!!!!

Two more duets I wish I'd added from my highschool days:
Brian Adams and Tina Turner, It's Only Love - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfUyUhewyEQ

Bono's duet with Sinatra was "I got you under my skin", but it's been removed from UTube so I can't share a link here. Maybe i-tunes for those of us with that program.
