Sometimes all I want to do is prepare, cook and eat food slowly. I get resentful that such an important activity feels crammed in my day.

I've started doing the one serving and notice a difference in how I feel. My next area of attention is around how much I cook. Usually way more than needed for a meal. This is grand in someways b/c leftover are the perfect lunch for my daughter and I but it also creates the temptation for 2nds or 3rds! I see the connection to my childhood where there was always an overabundance of food . I think there was some unconscious fear based hoarding going on. My folks both were kids in wartime Europe.
