Carrie and Danielle: If you were an animal, what would you be?

  • Daniel Gibbons · 1 year ago
I'll kick things off today, since we're so late in getting started with the Daily... I'm certain that I'm really a cat. People assume them to be solitary beings, but in fact they are communal creatures that simply appear independent, if that makes sense. (Without the hairball thing, of course...)
  • fabuleuxparis · 1 year ago
If I could choose any animal in the world, I think I would be a very pampered, well loved, poodle. In fact I once took a quiz and that was what I came out to be.

    Love,

  • DanielleLaPorte · 1 year ago
well, that says a lot for you...poodles are the smartest breed of dogs! They have the largest brains in relation to their bodies.
  • fabuleuxparis · 1 year ago
Wow! I did not know that, but it fits. I have been teased a lot for being brainy. Always having my nose in a book. I even read the encyclopedia. LOL! But I am also a fluffy fashionista. (poodle like?) It is such a humorous contradiction.

    :)

I've always really identified with my Chinese horoscope - the TIGER! :)
    Aggressive and passionate.

Raven & Crow - they follow and guide me. Blue butterflies during transformation. Other totem friends who have shared their medicine - fox, deer, coyote, snake, hawk, dragon and bear...
  • Alison · 1 year ago
MoJo, if you have time, there's a video I'd like to share:

I think it says a lot about butterfly medicine, don't you?
  • MoJo · 1 year ago
That was beautiful Alison, thank you!
  • Alison · 1 year ago
I'm so glad you think so! Its my pleasure.

I have always been drawn to bears. I tend to stay close to my family and I'm quiet, unless provoked or scared. I looked up bears as totem animals once and it said something about being a dreamer... and that's me all the way!! I also really like butterflies. So pretty, and so free.

A wolf! Nocturnal, solitary yet very community-minded, minds our own business, connected to the moon, quite shy and keeps to itself. I also have had a lot of dreams with elephants in them lately.
  • Kristin_The_Goat · 1 year ago
Another cat here - but I'd add in Turtle, too. I love to be a part of things, rub up against people I admire and love and I also really like to to just tuck in and watch the world. I really like to sit and watch the world go by from my window but I also like to stroll along the grass slowing taking it all in.

    A lynx.

A Pig. Ever since I was a little girl I've always loved them. I even had an imaginary pig growing up. All negative associations aside, they've always represented contentment to me something I need more of in my life.

A cross between a dragon (my Chinese horoscope), a lion (my astrology sign) and a snake (animal totem). Why not?
  • Lori_from_Texas · 1 year ago
If I were to take animal form, I'd have to go with bird. Why?
Birds have a song of their own.
Birds can have the best of both worlds: a nest and the whole sky.
"Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God." --Matthew 6:26

Danielle, Love what you said about Totem animals , that resonates.
  • Alison · 1 year ago
    That's wonderful!

I am very drawn to photos of the male lion in their African setting. After reading what the lion as totem means (Danielle's link) I think there may be good reason. In numberology I am a master number '11' which is a '2' and they are the peackeepers and do not like conflict but when pushed, they become the terrible '2's'. That kind of describes the male lion. Also, one of my life lessons is to learn patience, and that's also addressed in the description. ROAR! Meow.. :D
  • Rick_Juliusson · 1 year ago
just out of curiosity, why the male lion? the female does all the hunting and hard work, while he just looks magnificent with this big curly mane waiting for her to bring back his dinner. Oh, maybe that's why...

Being an eagle can be a real burden. Being a bird of prey can weigh on your heart. I'm glad that you seem to have triumphed, Danielle. I've found Eagledom a real struggle at times. Its frustrating, and often, it feels like there's more expected of you. Not to mention the fact that we've got SHARP talons!
  • sharon grace · 1 year ago
without a doubt... raven/crow. i have an affinity towards these birds that i can't explain. as it turns out it is my totem animal as well. i was drawn to them long before i knew that. and i have a hybrid raven/crow tattooed on my back. urban primitive, fergus ontario. artist daemon rowanchilde. danette relic referred me to him and thank goodness she did he's fantastic.

I'd be a beautiful (is there any other kind) cat; a house cat who would live with someone like me.

I'd be a Cheetah. When I was in high school I was on the track team then I later became a champion amateur car racer. I still love speed many many years later. The Cheetah is built for speed! So was I.

I just did an exercise in my creative writing class and apparently I am a bunny rabbit. It suits. I am a very gentle and kind person. I love to be with my friends and family and share my life and my love with them. I don't place demands on anyone.

    I am a dog.
  • Suzyn · 1 year ago
Definitely a cat. In western astrology I'm a leo, in eastern I'm a tiger. Hmmmm - maybe I need to hook into cat energy more. No cat ever felt guilty for taking 10 naps a day!

If I were an animal, I would be an elephant. My peers consider me to be "smart" and "wise." I have moments of great personal power. I love my family dearly and feel particularly connected to my mother and sisters. I remember rights and wrongs done to me and tend to be fiercely loyal to those who show me kindness and carry a grudge against those who have been unkind to me. I saw and iMax movie about African elephants when I was in my early twenties and their stories and traits resonated so strongly with me.

I am a cat who lives with a rich elderly woman and I have my own pillow that is taken everywhere I am because Lord knows I can't sit just anywhere.
