Something we all could benefit from.

For another great perspective on this book, see Amy's thoughts at the International Orange blog: http://www.internationalorange.com/blog/the-art...

Re: If You Could Only Take One Book With You, Wherever You Went, What Would it Be?

A dictionary... what a wonderful way to expand your mind...but SO heavy to carry! :)

Re: If You Could Only Take One Book With You, Wherever You Went, What Would it Be?

Great book.

Re: If You Could Only Take One Book With You, Wherever You Went, What Would it Be?

Ethics for the New Millennium by the Dalai Lama...

Re: If You Could Only Take One Book With You, Wherever You Went, What Would it Be?

Wow, that's an incredibly hard question. Assuming I couldn't take a Kindle, I'd have some serious soul searching to pick just one. My gut says that I would choose either East of Eden or The Red Tent if I were absolutely forced to pick one book.

Re: If You Could Only Take One Book With You, Wherever You Went, What Would it Be?

funny, the gita is up there for me too.

Re: If You Could Only Take One Book With You, Wherever You Went, What Would it Be?

"Einstein's Dreams" by Alan Lightman. Maybe a picture book, but if I had to pick one for self-education, it'd be a Caroline Myss book, like "Why people don't heal, and how they can".

Re: If You Could Only Take One Book With You, Wherever You Went, What Would it Be?

This is so difficult; but it came to me intuitively, so I'd say:MAKING THE GODS WORK FOR YOU,
by Carollne Casey. It is like a prayer book, but with poems. That book would get me through anything. Prufrock and Burnt Norton by T.S. Eliot, poems by Emily Dickinson, Shakespeare, Seamus Heany, Thomas Hardy, Mary Oliver, Tess Gallagher, Rita Dove, Ann Carson... just to name a few. It feeds my soul, and I always take it with me when I travel.

Re: If You Could Only Take One Book With You, Wherever You Went, What Would it Be?

I would go with The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
