Although astrology is entertaining, it must be pointed out that the celestial objects are now in a different location than they were back when Astrology was invented. I was born in August (leo), but the stars up above were "off" by a month. Doesn't that make me a Virgo, or even a Libra? Hmmm.

I agree totally (am a day late and a dollar short here) with Rachel. And I believe truly that because you can not see something does not mean it does not exist. I think for anyone to say that astrology is bunkum or hocus pocus without thoughtful research and analysis upon which to base that decision - is a poorer person for that opinion.

I am an Aries, the Ram - and a shepherdess as well, so go figure :>

I am a Christian Leo. I think I became one when my Dad gave me a Leo gold charm as my Catholic confirmation present: the Italians very fond of both Jesus and Astrology it seems. I find issues of faith provocative, and being the lioness, I do like to talk about me me me. So...here goes. For me, astrology has a breakdown of the personalities that I attribute more to the season in which a child is born. It's too accurate to ignore. It's not so much a hocus pocus, but a nature thing. Are you nurtured at the breast in the blistering heat of August, or in the cool of the May day or the freezing nights of November? It has to have some sort of influence on how we operate in the world - our first introduction to it. No?

I seem to collect cancers and aries in my life. The cancers I love and get along with (because they adore and admire me, so why wouldn't I?) They are sunny and loving and gentle, and they are born in the most beautiful time of the year. And the Aries, born in crisp spring, I love because they challenge me, but God, are they ever pains in the royal feline asses. Aries. Oh, so provocative. Give it a rest, you and your belt. Break someone else's ice, will ya? You and your spring run off.

I do think about astrology when I plan out my family and when trying to get pregnant, admittedly, I do skip over anything that would land me with anything CLOSE to an aries. I shoot for cancer. What does this mean? It means my husband has to be "quick draw McGraw" until October.

oh, i reflect my cusp gemini chart entirely, and my boyfriend is the consummate leo. astrology has allowed me to recognise various innate tendencies and boundaries in people - in their contexts. like, i can think my boyfriend is disrespectfully slow and tardy or i can accept he's a languidly moving leo. either way, there's nothing i could do to give him my air of frenzy; his pace has nothing to with me.

I love astrology! I find it empowering learning about my own sign and fascinating learning about others. To answer the question, I allow astrology to influence the relationships in my life most of all. I'm a bit embarrassed to say mostly romantic ones (I'm a Scorpio, so I steer clear of Geminis in the romance dept). I'm a big fan of Linda Goodman's book "Sun Signs". While comically out of date, I find it holds great insight into others, with info on each sign, in relation to you: a boss, employee, child, etc...
Today's Q&A has inspired me to educate myself more on the subject, to perhaps apply this knowledge to different areas of my life, or seek out a professional reading. thanks!

You may want to check-out your oriental astrology sign. I'm a Virgo - Dragon and the western and oriental characterizations are really interesting! :)

I don't do hard core astrology but I read a lot about it. It has helped me understand my personality traits and how to use the positive ones to enrich my life and daily people dealings while being more conscious in tempering the other characteristics that may throw people off. I have a high sense of self awareness and astrology definitely contributes in my introspections.

Well put. I especially like these 2 combos of words......".added a layer of richness and texture" and "like to solve the puzzles of people" you are a gal after my own heart. There are many ways out there in the big wide world to gather information and insights. Then I just intuitively mix and match the way my inner voice is directing me at the time.

I'm with you. While I find astrology intriguing and curious, I've never really delved into it beyond knowing I'm an Aries. Can Christianity and Astrology compliment each other - seeing that God created Heaven and Earth?

I love to travel and see the world, I'm flexible, I'm a lover of people, love music, adapt easily in any situation, I'm very intellectual and philosophical but also love to party, to laugh, to dance and be wild. Can you guess my sign? Saggitarius!!!! That's how my astrological sign has influenced me.

Just double check your reservations (plane and hotel) before you go. Hang on tight to your communications paraphernalia (cell, laptop, blackberry). Relax and don't 'resist' and all should go well. Oh, and most importantly, don't sign contracts during this period. Stall!! Have a wonderful trip and next time, you will know to book around MIR times.

On the contrary, I do not have hate for the celestial influences, I used to work for an astro-physicist at Stanford. I am quite aware of the influences of the celestial bodies. And the fact we are made up of the elements found in those celestial bodies. ;D

I was not trolling, thank you, I was merely answering the question based on my Christian beliefs to worship my Creator and not His creations and the proof science gives of what goes on in the universe. Not on how someone else commented.

If people want to believe in astrology etc. that is their business, I was not and do not criticize anyone's beliefs. I have just had more than Biblical and scientific proof by discovering too many dead astrologers and tarot card readers in New Orleans after Katrina to ever believe in it.

Well, I will be traveling right at the beginning of Mercury Retrograde in September. I had never looked it up before, nor did I know what it meant. So, I will be very aware and will be patient while I'm at the airport :)

Oh yes... Mercury in Retrograde. I just posted some information about that, for those unfamiliar. Those who looked at me askance when I warned them prior to their trips, no longer do so and even ask me Mercury's schedule when they plan a vacation, etc.

If your rising sign is Aquarius, it will be a very strong influence. Here are a few of the things I know of Aquarians: Independent, Individualist & Free Spirit, Humanitarian, Young at heart and in looks for a long time, can be 'cool' or distant and seemingly dispassionate.
