Carrie and Danielle: Diabetic Dating 101 (Or How to Love a Sweetie Who Can’t Eat Sweets)

Good article. As a type 2, I'd also like to include 2 things.

I have given a handful of close friends/coworkers/familly the right to ask me to check my blood sugar. There can be times when I am not the best judge of the situation particularly as lows come on.

Additionally, the only person who gets to decide whether or not I CAN eat something is me. With sufficient planning, or accommodation there is very little I can't eat in some quantity. And that choice is mine. I don't need to be policed by an outside force.

Prevention is better than cure. I love sweets so much but this article opened my eyes not too eat too much sweets.

Btw. I love the picture above. Such a mouth watering view.

The diabetic person already knew his limits. If he still insists on eating the wrong food, insist on doing the wrong exercise, insist on doing all things that are against his being diabetic, then by all means, tell him again the pros and cons. But if still nothing can stop him, its no longer your fault. Just go on with your life together the usual way. No restriction whatsoever.
